10… No Make That 15 Hot Actors to Spark Your Libido or at Least Make You Drool!

For those of you that have read my other post, you know I’m all about lists. Ten Movies to Get You in the Mood, Five Aphrodisiacs to Heat Up the Bedroom, and now Ten Hot Actors to Spark Your Libido. Okay, so I wanted to do an article on the top ten hottest actors, but I just couldn’t narrow it down. There’s just way too much eye candy out there! And I’ve always had a terrible sweet tooth.

So, after trying to decide on just ten, I decided to increase it to fifteen, which was still too difficult. I had to spend a lot of time staring at pictures of hot guys. Worse, I had to explain this near obsession to the hubby, who just cocked up one dark eyebrow with that yeah-I-can-see-this-research-is-taking-a-toll-on-you-look. Really, honey it was difficult. Too many hot bodies and handsome faces can make a girl squirm in her chair.

Okay, enough about my dilemma. Let’s get to the list. I’m not going to put these in order. I’m just going to toss the names and pics out there. Oh, and I want to thank everyone who chimed it with their favorite or favorites. Love ya gals for being so supportive and doing the research with me. As they say, it’s a tough job, but somebodies gotta do it.

  1. Gerard Bulter – 43 – Scottish actor who starred in The Bounty Hunter. His name came up repeatedly. This is fellow chick Josie’s top pick after her handsome hubby.
  2. Henry Cavill – 30 – Another British actor that was a favorite. Known for his role as Superman in Man of Steel. His name has been bandied about for the role of Christian Grey.
  3. Richard Armitage – 41 – Great in the BBC film North and South as the intense John Thornton. Also from the UK. What are they putting in the water over there?
  4. Robert Downey Jr. – 48 – So he’s not British, but he portrayed a Brit in Sherlock Homes.
  5. Chris Helmsworth – 30- Hubba-hubba Australian born. Loved him with his long hair in Thor.
  6. Will Smith – 44 – Mmm, really hot in the film Hitch. He’s come a long way since The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
  7. Jason Strathom – 45 – Maybe it’s the bad-yet-good-boy-thing this British actor has going in most of his movies or it could be the accent, but somebody please hand me a fan. Great in the film Snatch.
  8. Russell Crowe – 49 – Australian hunk known for films like Gladiators.
  9. Ben Affleck – 41- One of my personal favorites. In the film The Company Men he looked hot in a suit or a flannel shirt.
  10. Denzel Washington – 48- Not only a great actor, but easy on the eyes. Fantastic in Crimson Tide.
  11. Ryan Gosling – 32 – This Canadian actor is in one of my favorite movies The Notebook.
  12. Sean Bean/Pierce Brosnan – 54/60 British/Irish Okay, so I cheated here and put two names, but when I watched Golden Eye, I drooled over both of them.
  13. Robert Kazinsky – 29 – British actor known for his role on True Blood. He’s also been named as a possibility for the role of Christian Grey.
  14. Ian Somerhalder – 34 – I remember him from the television show Lost. Another name mentioned to possibly play Christian Grey… must be those blue eyes of his.
  15. Matt Bomer – 35 – This actor was new to me, but one look at his picture on the internet and I had to add him to the list. Plays in the TV show White Collar. Another contender for Christian Grey.

Okay, so I know this list has omitted several hot actors. So please feel free to share who you think should have been on the list and what movie you enjoyed them in.  Do you have a favorite of the ones I posted? Any guys out there want to add a few women to the lists?

  1. Oh Pierce Brosnan. I do love every one on this list, but I have been drooling over him since I was seventeen. A friend in the restaurant business told me he was the nicest person he ever waited on, which sort of sealed the deal. I even love his awful singing in Mamma Mia and that he was unselfconscious enough to do it. My very first boyfriend teased me about the picture of Pierce I had on my wall in high school, and my husband mocked me about that very same pic. I’m loyal!

  2. I’m with you Huntley, I was very upset when I heard they were going to replace him as James Bond. But I have to admit Daniel Craig isn’t too hard on the eyes either. I loved Pierce Brosnan in Remington Steele. Yum! And Mama Mia also had Colin Firth, another actor that’s a favorite of mine. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Colin Firth is the patron saint of romance writers, I believe. The nearly perfect guy. Well, maybe actually perfect. And yes, I loved Pierce as Remy. Such a lovely show. Don’t get Daniel Craig though I know I’m in the minority!

    • Yes! Ever since he played Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, he won me over *swoons* :)

    • Huntley, I should have mentioned that I really wanted to put Cary Grant on the list. I do love the old movies, especially if he’s in them.

    • Josie Matthews says:

Hi Huntley!!! Missin’ you!! Great choices here lovey!! And as far as Daniel Craig…I do really like him…He lives here by me and we see him often…Even BETTER in person and wonderfully nice. I’m liking Robin Thicke lately too for some reason…but I do want to restyle that fonzi hair-do of his! Make him more of a bad-boy…a few tatts…maybe a nice buzz cut….mmmmmm

  4. Great list, Renee. I must have really different tastes, because maybe 2 of these men would be in my top fifteen, but that’s the beauty of having so many to choose from!!

  5. I knew this was going to be good before I even clicked on the link! I also think Tom Selleck — even post Magnum P.I. — can be added to this list. Thanks for the post.

    • Angela, When I was a teen, I thought Tom Selleck was so hot! He’s one of those guys that looks good in a tux or a cowboy hat. Yep, we’ll add him to the list. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Hey Renee, super fun post! All I can say is: Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor! He was beautiful in that movie! :)

  7. georgie538 says:

I think you’ve covered it pretty well!
I do like me some Brad Pitt too. I sure wouldn’t turn him away if he came knocking on my door. Just don’t tell the other half! ;)

    • I was hoping someone would add him to the list! Yep, he’s another hottie. Looks great with long hair or cut short. Shhh, don’t tell my hubby either.

  8. georgie538 says:

Sorry, I have another…a fellow Australian, Hugh Jackman. :)

    • When I was asking for names of hot actors, I was totally shocked no one said him.Just must have been the ladies I asked, because I know he’s usually a favorite. Nice addition. Thanks for joining in on the conversation and adding your picks, they were both great additions.

    • Josie Matthews says:

Georgie…I’ve always loved Brad Pitt…two of my favorites of his…Seasons of the fall (he’s such a wounded warrior) and Seven…
Considering his unconventional lifestyle with the unpredictable Angelina Jolie…he seems solid as a rock as well which makes him all that much more lovely!!!

  9. Jason Strathom does it for me. Okay, Pierce Brosnan does it, too. I saw a recent picture of Sean Connery in a kilt…OMG. Men like women to take care of themselves. We women like men who do the same…time spent working out, no scruffy beards like those Duck Duds and attention to what they put on for the day. Oh, and that self-assured swagger. You know, walking into a room and silently announcing, “I’m man enough to rock your world, baby.” ROCK ON!!

    • Jason Strathom is yummy! And I should have mentioned a great movie with Pierce Brosnan is The Thomas Crown Affair. I’m usually disappointed with remakes, but this was a really good movie. Sean Connery has great legs. Are you looking at men in kilts under the pretense of research? What a tough job. Aren’t you glad you have it?

      • Josie Matthews says:

Okay gals…I have to admit…I had to look up Jason Strathom and I love what I saw! Love that shaved head / scruffy jaw look…Im definitely a girl who loves a bad-boy and I’ve got the scars on my heart to prove it…someday Ill blog about it!!! What movies was he in?

        • If I was to suggest a movie Jason Strathom is in, I’d say Transporter. Both Brad Pitt and Jason Strathom are in the movie Snatch, which I really enjoyed. But I did have to close my eyes a couple times or look away from the screen because of the violence.
